Kampa, a dancer with the Boston Ballet who grew up in Virginia and trained with the Reston Conservatory Ballet, returned in 2011 to Russia to dance with the Mariinsky Ballet. Kampa was the first American to join the Mariinsky. In 2010, she was the first American to receive the full diploma from the Vaganova Ballet Academy.
